Dear we'll definitely get through this together!

I love you lots too and I want to spend the rest of my life with you too!

I consider myself your wife already, my heart and mind is with you, the ceremony is just formality!

I am nonetheless excited to formally become your wife.

Dear! We'll both stay strong and together yeah!

Raccoon sighting in Siglap!

I went to Mel's apartment after my walk today to get some DVDs from her and we saw a raccoon!

The animal climbed up a gate, jumped to a pillar more than its body length away, strutted across the wall over our heads and disappeared up a tree.

"Look at that cat!" I exclaimed when I saw it climbing up the gate.

"That is so not a cat loh!" replied Meliza. "THAT is a ferret!"

I went back home, googled for ferrets and realised that it is not a ferret but a freaking raccoon!

It looked something like this. Cute and cuddly!

The sky was clear and I also got a mini astronomy lesson from Mel.

The Orions Belt looks like this, and we also saw what looked like to be the Southern Cross.
We saw a bright orange star, not blinking or moving, but according to Mel, we are not supposed to be able to differentiate star colours with our naked eye.
Maybe its an UFO woah! Heh Heh!!!

Yummy food and sword bearers

Finally, all the wedding dinners I'm invited to are over for the year!

Yesterday was Leanne and David's wedding at the Mandarin Oriental, today was Miaoxin and Ivan's wedding at Sheraton Towers.

I was totally wowed by both weddings!

Leanne and David's one was excellently planned. The service and ambiance at the Mandarin Oriental were absolutely first-class, the servers were extremely attentive and took great care of us. David had spent great effort trying and choosing the dishes on the menu so the food was totally innovative and delicious! The wine was good too! I've never had so many glasses of white wine in a sitting before! Woke up with a slight hangover the next day! :P

As for Miaoxin and Ivan's wedding, Ivan is with the navy, so they had sword bearers for their walk-in! It was sooo cool and smart! Their toasting went really well thanks to the big number of navy officers in attendance!

Dirty office Politics

Some people in my workplace makes me feel like throwing up.

These two days have been quite unbearable. We had meetings after meetings scheduled one after another, which gave me plenty of opportunities to watch bootlickers , backstabbers and liars in action. Therefore, I have to say that I now understand these two groups of despicable fellows better.

Bootlickers
The big number of booklickers in my school means that there are plenty of big egos to be stroked. I think that these big egos are ultra deprived and desperate of friends and supporters and therefore can stand the irritating bootlickers. The bootlickers in turn are incompetent, this is why they have to resort to using low-down methods instead of proving their worth.

Backstabbers
Backstabbers have no balls. Wanna talk bad about someone do it infront of the person lah!
I've seen this disgusting sickening despicable irksome fellow complaining about a group of people to a just-as-disgusting higher-up, and then the group of people entered the room suddenly and his tone changed 180 degrees and was all friendly and joking with them.

That same backstabber raised his voice at me later on when I defended a person he was badmouthing. It took all of my self control to clamp my mouth shut. No point fighting for righteousness in front of a group of despicable people.

The dirty scheming arseholes...

Staff Retreat 2007

For our staff retreat this year, we went for the duck tour, hippo tour and had lunch at The Legends! We were supposed to go on the DHL balloon too but it was cancelled due to bad weather.

The duck and hippo tours were a lot more fun than I had expected! We had a super funny and witty guide (who was an ex-sports commentator for TCS) on the duck tour who made us laugh all the way with his jokes. The best part was when he made fun of our Principal who was in the next boat! Our guide for the hippo tour was less interesting so I wasn't listening to him at all. It was nice sitting on the open upper deck going through Little India, Kampong Glam and Chinatown.

Yvonne and me on the hippo bus.

Lunch was at The Legends, Fort Canning, which was beautiful. It rained so we had to have our Amazing Race indoors. I was in Gerald's group and we cheated 3 out of 4 stations! Haha! It was really funny!! We didn't get into the top 3 positions however, cos we wasted too much time starting out.
Here are some pictures I took!

My 26th Birthday

I had a truly blessed day!

I had a surprise the moment I got up. My sister had tied balloons to the piano and they formed the words 'happy birthday'. It was really sweet of her!

It is also my school's Annual Prize Giving day today and my Angklung kids performed. I received comments from my colleagues that they did a good job. As their teacher-in-charge, I feel so proud of them!

Later on, Elvenia treated me high-tea at Goodwood Park Hotel. The food was good but we were too full to eat much. I forgot to take a picture with her there. :(

And then for dinner, I met up with my cell group! They are really one big bunch of naughty, funny and creative people. Jiahui was in charge of meeting me and bluffing me that she's the only one free to celebrate my birthday with me. And just then I walked past the restaurant, recognised Wendy's hair, Merf's back view, and four people had their menus high up covering their faces, and asked "Then who are all those people?" Totally hilarious!

And they just had to sabotage me! They made me put on a mask that Kaixin created and take pictures. Apparently I got off lightly already. They had originally wanted me to walk around the restaurant!!! Arghh!!!

I got two presents from them, A NDS game from the cellgroup, and book 6 of the wheel of time from Wendy, Eliz, Nicole, Kaixin, Ben, Eunice, Mingkai, Jiahui and Merf. Thank you bearymuch people!!!!!!!

Sickening people I've to work with

Hai.. I lost my temper in school again today.

I was about to go to class after my free period when the office staff paged for me and asked me where the extra copies for the P3 English Paper were.

Ok let me explain a little. We teachers have to set papers for the exams so after the Principal vets and endorses our paper, we send it for printing. We have a photocopying lady to do the printing. After printing for the whole level, the setter will count the exact copies for each class and store them away to be used for the exam. There will always be extra copies which will be stored in the same cupboard. These extra copies are for new pupils who need to take our exams to be placed in the correct level the next year.

So a new student came along today and the office staff couldn't find the extra copies and immediately pointed the finger at me because I am the setter. The photocopying lady even dared to say that I printed the paper myself. Like DUH, as if I am so bored that I want to print a 20 pages paper for 150 students. Obviously they were misplaced or taken by someone, most likely a P3 teacher when he/she gave out the papers for the exam. And then they demanded me to give them a copy right away.

Luckily I had my thumbdrive with me. If not, what will happen? Shouldn't the office be more organised and file the extras properly to be used when needed instead of only rummaging through the cupboard when a new student pops in?

Wah lau... really hate their attitude. They just don't know how to admit their mistakes and ask nicely for favours. Wished I could say "NO. I'm not going to print it out for you unless you ask nicely."
